  1. On the Friday before Christmas, a door-to-door panhandler went to the upstairs door asking for a handout. My basement unit was dark and looked empty, but I was listening in like Mrs. Kravitz from Bewitched. Anna (upstairs) declined for the upstairs visit, so then I hear the guy came downstairs, but before he knocked, he tried the doorknob first, which was kinda sketchy.

I’ve seen a number of mail package boxes discarded on the street from addresses on our block, which I also suspect were lifted from deliveries left at people’s door, including ours. Anna says some of her deliveries did not make it to her, even though the delivery records say they were left there. I get my packages at work to avoid that though.

Anyhow, during the day and over major holidays, people are checking the opennes of your house. Keep your doors locked.

  2. Hi all, ANOTHER break-in on Warner Street (we are a 1 block street with maybe 20 houses) night before last. This time, they broke a sliding glass door in the back of the house and opened it, but apparently left when the alarm sounded. Our neighbor reported it to the police and there was a police car out front for several hours yesterday.
