What’s it take to get a few more police patrols?

I think we now know. NBC4 / MSNBC are reporting that a school bus had shots fired on it by a pellet gun. No one appears to be hurt or injured which, thank god, is the good news in all this.

But… while not one to make light the severity of this, I’m going to. It’s a pellet gun. There are actual gunshots fired in the area along the North Capitol corridor every once in a while. Any coverage of those? Nada.

Anyone want to take a bet that Vincent Orange will be on the news tonight? $5 says he’ll be interviewed at the scene. Any takers?

  1. And yet because it is Vincent Orange, absolutely no one in the District will care. Seriously, does anybody support this yahoo?

  2. Surprisingly, yes – at the Ward 5 Constituent Services Summit last weekend there were a fair number of folks who openly (and vocally) supported Orange. Now, the Summit wasn’t very well attended (imo), and I believe his supporters knew about it far enough in advance to clear an entire Saturday to show up. I was approached by a very nice gentleman at the end – one of Orange’s campaign volunteers who lives in Ward 1 – and I kindly let him know some of the reasons that as a resident of Ward 5 I am 99.9% sure that I wouldn’t be voting for Orange.

  3. What do I have against Orange. Nothing personally, I’m sure he is a lovely fellow, good father and all that. But I have found him lacking as a Ward 5 Councilman. I’ve felt that he has treated this little NW section Ward 5, like a red-headed stepchild. Also occassionally he does stupid stunts. But we all do stupid stuff once in a while. So, he does not have my vote. Other people might have their own reasons. I have mine.

  4. I think he’s a politcal hack. Is that a good enough reason not to vote for him? He might be a decent human otherwise. In fact I have no reason to believe otherwise.

Also, I’m sick of his campaign plastering his signs in every public place in the area. Notice you NEVER see them in someone’s front yard– only on signposts, medians and other public places. That ought to tell you loads about his support.

  5. rather than point the question as to why doesnt one like him, shouldn’t it be closer to, “what has he done to deserve our vote”?

i’d love to hear some good reasons.
